Playing from Asia

Hi everyone. I have not plated guild wars but from the videos, I would love to give it a try. However I read some info about GW2 being region specific. Since only north america and Europe versions are being sold, then does that mean I cannot play the game because I live in Hong Kong?

If can, then what is the best way to get the game?

General

Lords of Thunder welcome players of all types (casuals and hardcore), genders, age and interest (PvE,PvP,WvW,RP). All races and professions are welcome to fight under our name and banner. We respect and value all types of gameplay.

We believe that a PvE player is an explorer, the one who will gather vast knowledge about the world and aid the guild with his wisdom.
Players marking themselves with PvP are generally very skilled individuals, always seeking to push the limits of their gameplay.The ones who will represent us on the battlefield.
RP players are valued in our guild for their creativity and knowledge about the lore. A good story lasts forever.

Our members will decide, which of game aspects will be represented the most, according
to their own interests.

Basic Info

Our guild organization will provide you to play the game as a casual or a hardcore. You can decide what type of calendar events will you be attending the most and players who are online very rarely will not be frowned upon.
Since we'll be playing on a EU server, there will always be someone online cause we plan to recruit players no matter the time of the day. Players from other timezones are also welcome to join us.
As we grow in numbers, our members will be organized in Dungeon Squads and PvP Strike Teams according to the number of online players. Players will have the option to organize a team themselves or ask for the leaders to assign them to one.
We respect the creative effort of the game developers so our members are asked to have lore appropriate character names. (Not Supperkilla, Charrlezbronson, Boom ur dead, Stuttttter, Staby Mc Render etc.)

Certain exceptions can be made if a player shows himself to be a very charming and
skilled individual.

We plan to use Mumble for voice chat. While you are not obligated to use it at all times, you will be asked to connect on it during major competitive PvE and PvP events for better coordination.
Multiple guilds? - Lords of Thunder is a guild that is built on loyalty and friendship. We hope that our members will indentify themselves with our guild and recognize the effort that was put into our organization. However, we don't mind if a player also chooses to be a member of his small family guild or a guild with a specific RP flavor.

Requirements to join us:

Decent looking character name
A friendly player, who can work with others
Willingness to buy his GM and Officers a pint of ale in the local tavern every now and then, usually during promotions.

What to expect from us?

- Option to advance in guilds ranking structure.

- Calendar events of all types; PvE, PvP, RP.

- Experienced leadership in managing of large number of players.

- Coordination and diplomatic alliances with other guilds on the server for the World vs World domination and shared RP events.

- Website filled with a ton of interesting content, gallery, music, forums etc.

- A guild that will not disband due to lack of motivation of his GM or Officers.

- We shall leave our mark in the world and make sure it stays there.

GW2 performance

Hello everybody.
I'm here to get a piece of advice from you.
During the stress test which was conducted yesterday I found out that GW2 has major performance problems while running on my computer.
I wanna hear your opinion on that topic.
Here's my computer's configuration:
- Windows 7 OS
- AMD Phenom Triple Core 2.1 GGz
- Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT
- 2 GB RAM

As far as i know my device fits the minimum system requirements and even exceeds them... by a fraction)
Still I suffered very hard lags even though I choose the lowest graphics settings.

I will try and keep this simple and to the point.

What Is Downtime Gaming?

Downtime Gaming is an upcoming PVP/PVE organized but casual Guildwars 2 community (Guild) for mature gamers. We do use raid call for our voice program for now.

Mature?

We are looking for 18+ members that don't curse like a sailor and respect their fellow gamers. So your kids play to? That's fine, kids that have parents that are members of Downtime Gaming can play together.

Casual?

So you have things to do in real life and cant be online 24/7? Have a wife, kids, job, cat, dog, etc? Downtime Gaming is not looking for six or seven hours a day of your time. Jump on when you can and play with a tight knit group of gamers that play and just have a good time.

Goals?

We don't really have any goals. We do what the members of DTG want to do. The members of DTG are the guild, not the GM. The whole point is to get a group of casual gamers that want to play GW2 together and have fun in an organized gaming environment.

Servius Sancti is a new guild started specifically for Guild Wars 2. Our members come from various guilds in other games such as Lord of the Rings Online, Rift, EVE and others. Our leader Merex has plenty of experience leading both small and large groups in PvP as well as been a guild leader (he is guild leader of Organization of Freep Spies in Lord of the Rings Brandywine Server). Our officers and squad leaders also have guild leadership experience as well as the know how of leading groups of multiple sizes.

In Guild Wars 2 we plan on focusing on PvP both in organized WvWvW and competitive structured PvP. We pride ourselves on not only thinking quick on our feet and applying outside the box thinking and strategies but also working along side our servers community to be the best server we can be and being dominate as a server. About Twelve

Twelve is an online community that was initially created by a group of school friends as a World of Warcraft guild. Over time it grew not only as a guild, but also as a community where guild mates became friends. Friends who kept in touch even after they stopped playing WoW.

We pride ourselves on not taking a serious approach to gaming or life, and having a good time while doing it. We know what makes games fun and that is the people you play them with. Twelve extended itself outwards and infiltrated other games. Our forums became a hive of activity touching on topics ranging from discussion about the latest natural disaster to hypotheticals about ice cubes and treadmills.

Twelve History - The World of Warcraft Beginning

Our World of Warcraft guild stands strong as the oldest raiding guild on the Frostmourne server. We pride ourselves on strong leadership and steady progression while keeping a casual play style and a level of unprofessionalism that cannot be found elsewhere. Players who leave for more hardcore guilds usually return because "there's no other guild like Twelve".

With every new expansion many old Twelve relics shake off the dust and re-join the ranks for old times sake.

Other Games

When we try our hand at other games we swarm the servers with jerkdom. We spread our seed far and deep, team killing, team flashing, ramirezes doing everything and of course, trash talking. Games are better with Twelvians, it's a pure simple fact. Every new game we impregnate spreads the Twelve name and brings new blood into the mix.

Almost every new MMO that comes out has gotten a group of Twelvians to pick it up and give it a shot. Games such as Star Wars: The Old Republic, EvE-Online, Tabula Rasa, Age of Conan, Guild Wars, Rift, Warhammer Online, Hellgate London, have all had a Twelve guild with a large following and all members had a great time playing them together. Even if the game is a complete bomb, it's going to be great when played with Twelve.

We also have regular groups of people playing the newer non-MMO games such as Battlefield 3, Starcraft 2, Counter Strike: Source, Left4Dead, Team Fortress 2 and so on. Playing these on Vent with friends makes you better as you can strategise together, react faster, pick up tips and tricks and just generally have more fun.

We are always looking forward to playing new games together; to meet new people, to shoot each other in the face yet again but most of all to just have fun.

Hello all, I would like to thank you for your interest in checking us out. We're currently using the Tarnished Coast as our home world for the betas, this could possibly change as we go into launch.

Tempest Gaming is an active gaming community for people over 20 years of age, that prides itself on its organized structure. We're a casual gaming community who will never give you a problem about placing your partner, kids, or other real life responsibilities above your game time, while maintaining a home for the more competitive gamers too. Thus our membership ranges from college students, career professionals, and even a few retirees.

Tempest was established March 15, 2011 within the MMO Rift. A small group of players banded together to build the top guild on the Threesprings Shard. Within a few months the guild ranks had grown to over 300 members with over 175 registered accounts. The guild flourished as a casual and fun guild with something for every play style. In October of the same year, Tempest began branching into other MMOs, while waiting for the release of SWTOR. In December, about 40 members jumped into SWTOR and played strong until February 2012. Most members became dissatisfied with the game and began branching into other games such as Aion, DDO, Vanguard, WoW, and a few other MMOs, leaving SWTOR as a casual/PvP game for most.

Tempest Gaming consists of dedicated players who enjoy working together as a team to accomplish common goals in all aspects of gaming. The following games have Tempest Branches:
