Guild Wars 2 Norn Race | GW2PC

The Norn are a dauntless people of grand honor and barbaric warrior spirit. For as long as the Nornrecall they have made their home in the frozen mountains of the Far Shiverpeaks, far away from the kingdoms of man. Like humanity, they own a long tradition of heroism and lofty deeds. Unlike humans, the Norndo not let the concept of a god dictate their path. The Nornfiercely believe in the spirit of nature and honoring their ancestors. So long as the deeds of their ancestors are sung, they live eternal. Norn take on the shape of great animal spirits in this world such as the bear or even the snow leopard.

The NornNorn Guild Wars 2 were noble fighters who isolated themselves within the ancient mountain—before the threat of a vile enemy. Awakened from a frozen sleep, the Elder Ice Dragon, Jormag caused war to break out. The Norn fought this enemy the same way their ancestors handled foes, through valiant, single hero combat. Hundreds were slain and soon the Norn were forced away from their beloved homeland.

Great spirits guided the Nornaway from the evil grasp of the dragon, and they soon swept into the lands once claimed by the Dwarves of old. It was in this land that the Nornestablished a sacred base of operations, Hoelbrak. The Nornare of barbaric and nomadic spirit, uncomfortable with the idea of being tied down to a city or city life. Hoelbreak is a place of trade, drink, dining, and entertainment. Their base was not founded as a city, simply a place to congregate and share stories of their ancestors. Although most only visit Hoelbrak on occasion, some Nornhave made it their year-round home.

These days Knut Whitebear acts as the overseer of Hoelbrak, though none call him “a ruler.” Terms such as ruler are not welcome among the culture of the Norn, although Knut acts as a guardian and protector of Hoelbrak and those within it. A teacher among his people, he is well respected like his father and grandfather before him.

The Nornmay have left ancestral lands but they do not consider themselves refugees. Refugees are weak and worn; the Nornare proud, armed to one day triumph and return home. Since arrival to the Shiverpeaks, they have grown into chiseled camps and homes along unsurpassed hunting grounds and the purest waters. The Norn are a people of anger, power, and warrior heritage. Knowing others prowl these lands, these champions fear no fight. The Nornare eager to defeat any who dare challenge their worth.

Enemies of the Nornlurk in many shapes, such as the ancient dwarven slaves called the Dredge and even the giants known as the Jotun. The foulest threat of all has followed them from their ancient home. The victors and minions of Jormag constantly threaten the Nornand are a force that must be brutally dealt with.

Times are atremble for the Norn, as with many races of Tyria. The Norn, however, possess no drop of doubt that they will soon swell up and flush out the enemy. Like their ancestors before them, they will act as gallant heroes who will not go down without a fight.
